biography
Born and raised in western Colorado, Christopher Klaich is currently residing in New York City and enjoys wearing many hats. Christopher loves to compose, arrange, and orchestrate. Having received commissions for weddings, school ensembles, recital and concert pieces, dance works as well as website promotional videos, he loves working in many genres, including a piece for Colorado Mesa University's Chamber Choir, Mother’s Lament, a haunting setting of the Robert Burns poem. He has arranged and orchestrated for various concerts in the US, as well as in Europe. Christopher recently worked with Louisiana-based choreographer Audra Allen to create new music for dance works. He has aspirations to compose in various genres including: film score, video game music, concert and chamber music, dance/ballet music, opera, oratorio and music theatre. He is currently working on self producing a children's music album.
Holding a Bachelor's degree in Music (Vocal Performance) from Colorado Mesa University, Christopher has performed as a soloist throughout the US and Europe. Favorite performances include Carmina Burana (baritone), Chichester Psalms (counter-tenor), King David (tenor), and David Soldier's War Prayer with the American Composers' Concordance concert series in NYC. Christopher also enjoys being on the musical stage, having performed in Brigadoon (Charlie), Iolanthe (Lord Chancellor), Sugar (Chorus, Joe u/s), The Boy Friend (Alphonse), West Side Story (Indio), and The Nutcracker (Nutcracker/Prince), to name a few.
Mr. Klaich has had the privilege of accompanying multiple music theatre productions, including Company, Side by Side by Sondheim, My Fair Lady, Dames at Sea, Always Patsy Cline, and Noye’s Fludde. He served as music director for productions of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Forever Plaid, and RENT, and worked for a number of years as the music director at St. Matthew Episcopal Church in Grand Junction, Colorado. Christopher has also been the rehearsal accompanist for various choral and dance productions, including acting as the staff accompanist for Colorado Mesa University Dance Department ballet classes.
Christopher is currently a professional chorus member of Christ Church Greenwich in Greenwich, Connecticut, where he sings with the Christ Church Singers, Scholars, and the Men and Boys' Choir. He has also been a member of Essential Voices USA, directed by Judith Clurman, as a vocalist and occasional rehearsal accompanist. Essential Voices USA performs regularly at Carnegie Hall and other concert venues in NYC. Christopher also worked with Judy as the rehearsal pianist for the Marvin Hamlisch tribute at the Julliard School, and is also in several recording sessions as a member of Essential Voices USA. Christopher was also selected to sing in the large chorus for the Broadway Revival cast album recording of PIPPIN.

Christopher has costumed designed 7 shows for Up Theater in Manhattan and been the choreographer for productions of My Fair Lady and Joseph...Dreamcoat.
In his free time, Christopher enjoys sewing, cooking and baking, crafts, movies and attending shows and concerts!
